Read one way, that says construction is behind. Read the way I would read it if I ran a building company in this province, it says the competitive spread in your sector is wider than in almost any other, and it will stay that way for a while.

Short answer: the practical AI opportunities in Alberta construction are in estimating support, document and drawing retrieval, submittal and RFI handling, site information capture, and subcontractor communication. None of them touch the build itself. All of them touch the paperwork that surrounds it.

Why construction adoption is low, and why that is not a reason to wait

The usual explanations are that the work is physical, the margins are tight, and the technology does not fit site conditions.
