Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
1. Who we are
AIwithZAK.com is the website of ZAK, an AI strategist and speaker based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean ZAK. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, who else handles it and the choices you have.
I handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy covers this website only. Information shared as part of a signed engagement is also covered by the terms of that engagement.
2. Who is responsible and how to reach me
ZAK is responsible for privacy on this website and acts as its privacy contact. Send any privacy question, request or complaint through the contact form. Choose "Something else" and say it is a privacy request.
3. What I collect
Information you give me. When you use the contact form, I collect your name, work email, company website, the kind of help you need, when you want to start, your message and, if you choose to share it, how you heard about me. If you subscribe to my newsletter, I collect your email address. If you join a waitlist or early access list for a future program, product, event or resource, I collect your email address.
Information collected automatically. Google Analytics, set up through Google Site Kit, records the pages you visit, your approximate location based on your IP address, your device and browser, and how you found the site. The form tool and a spam protection service also collect technical details such as your IP address to block automated spam.
What I do not collect. This site does not take payments and does not ask for sensitive information such as health, financial or government ID details. Please do not submit sensitive information through any form or message on this site. If you do, you do so at your own risk, and I may delete it.
4. Why I collect it
- To reply to your inquiry and, if we decide to work together, to plan that work.
- To send you my newsletter, only if you subscribed.
- To email you about a program, product, event or resource, only if you joined its waitlist or early access list.
- To understand which pages are useful so I can improve the site.
- To help protect the site and filter out spam.
- To meet legal and record keeping duties.
I collect only what I need for these purposes. I do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and I do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
5. Your consent
When you send a form, you consent to my use of what you sent for the purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the contact form. I will then stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires me to keep it. Withdrawing consent may mean I cannot answer your inquiry.
6. Newsletter and anti-spam law
I send my newsletter and any waitlist or early access emails through Kit (kit.com), an email service provider. I add you to a list only with your express consent, for example when you subscribe through a signup form. Sending a contact form does not sign you up for a newsletter or marketing email.
I follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every newsletter identifies me, gives a way to contact me and has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests are processed within the time CASL requires. Kit may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so I can see what readers find useful.
7. Cookies and analytics
- _ga and _ga_ cookies come from Google Analytics and tell one visit apart from another.
- _wpfuuid comes from the form tool and connects a form you send to your visit.
- Login cookies are set only for people who manage the site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site still works without them.
8. Service providers
A small number of service providers help me run this website. They handle personal information only to provide their service to me:
- My website host, which stores the site and form entries.
- WordPress plugins that run on the site, including WPForms for the contact form, a spam protection service, Yoast SEO and LiteSpeed Cache.
- Kit, which stores newsletter, waitlist and early access subscribers and sends those emails.
- My business email provider, which delivers form notifications and my replies.
- Google, for Google Analytics.
I remain responsible for personal information that these providers handle for me.
9. Information stored outside Canada
Some of my service providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Google Analytics data, for example, is processed by Google in the United States under Google's privacy policy. Kit is based in the United States and stores information on servers in the United States and other countries, as described in Kit's privacy policy. Information held in another country may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and authorities there under that country's laws. You can ask me, through the contact form, for written information about how these providers collect, use, disclose or store your information.
10. How long I keep it
I keep personal information only as long as I reasonably need it for the reason it was collected, or as long as the law requires for business records. After that I take reasonable steps to delete it or remove anything that identifies you. I generally keep inquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless I need them longer for work we do together or the law requires it. Newsletter, waitlist and early access subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in my Google Analytics account.
11. How I protect it
I use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, copying, change or loss. These may include HTTPS encryption, security software, spam protection and limited admin access. No method of sending or storing information online is fully secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, I will give the notices the law requires.
12. Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask how it has been used and shared, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Send your request through the contact form. I may ask you to confirm who you are before I share anything. I will respond within the time the law requires, which is generally 45 days under Alberta's PIPA. Some requests may be limited or refused where the law allows, and I will tell you why.
13. Questions and complaints
If you have a concern, please contact me first so I can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
14. Children
This website is meant for business owners, leaders and professionals. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I will take reasonable steps to delete it.
15. Third party services, links and embedded content
This site uses and links to services run by other companies, such as Google, Kit, WPForms, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo and Spotify. Embedded videos and other content may set their own cookies when you use them. These companies collect and use information under their own privacy policies and terms. I do not control them and I am not responsible for their privacy practices, content, security or availability. Please review their policies before you use them.
16. General information only
The articles, guides, resources, prompts, talks and other content on this website are general information for educational purposes. They are not legal, financial, tax, accounting, privacy, security or other professional advice, and using them does not create a client or advisory relationship. AI tools, their features and their outputs change often and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. You are responsible for checking any AI output and any decision you make, and you use this content at your own risk. Speak with a qualified professional about your situation.
17. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this website and all of its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and freedom from errors or harmful code.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ZAK is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, business or goodwill, that arise from or relate to:
- using or being unable to use this website;
- relying on any content, guide, resource or prompt on it;
- any AI tool, AI output or AI generated content, including results you get by following a guide;
- any third party service, product, website or link mentioned on or reached through this site;
- any unauthorized access to information despite reasonable safeguards.
This applies whether the claim is based on contract, negligence or any other legal theory, even if the possibility of the loss was known.
19. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold ZAK harmless from any claims, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your misuse of this website or its content, your breach of this policy, or your violation of any law or the rights of others.
20. Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits or waives any right you have under Alberta's PIPA, Canada's PIPEDA or any other law that cannot be limited or waived by agreement. Where the law does not allow a limit or exclusion above, it applies only to the extent the law allows.
21. Severability
If any part of this policy is found invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only as much as needed, and the rest of the policy stays in full force.
22. Changes to this policy
I may change this policy at any time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the site after that means you accept the updated policy. If a change affects how I use information you already gave me, I will seek your consent where the law requires it.
23. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about this policy or this website will be heard in the courts located in Calgary, Alberta, unless the law requires otherwise.
